INTRODUCTION
- Department of Neurology was started in the year 1992, the only teaching super specialty and referral department of tertiary care. GTB Hospital located in a very strategic and thickly populated region of the Delhi surrounded by area of UP and Haryana. It is governed directly under the National Capital territory of Delhi and is associated with University college of Medical sciences. If we are provided with the 24 hours Neurology Emergency services (22 Beds Proposed) in the area vacated by the Pediatrics Emergency and one full General Ward vacated by the Gynae and Obst., Pediatrics Department, and Manpower proposed sanction then we also start three years Post Graduate D.M. Neurology course in the scare Superspeciality of Neurology, one thousand qualified Neurologists for the whole country of estimated population 1.2 billion, which is likely to get double by 2020, like they have in GB Pant Hospital and Maulana Azad Medical College, Delhi.
